The Company The mission of the company at Northwest Tap Connection is to preserve and promote rhythm tap dance through education and performances. The studio philosophy is that dance enriches the lives of the students, while developing self-discipline, instilling self-confidence, and encouraging achievement and goal setting.
Northwest Tap Connection houses several different performing groups, including NW Tap Youth Ensemble (ages 12-19), Totally Tap Kids (ages 5-12), and Tap2, among others. All of the groups frequently perform both locally and nationally. The company is committed to travel as an essential element of the program. All students are also encouraged to participate in a yearly tap festival to build self-esteem and improve artistic and technical skills.
These young performers have danced with such tap legends as the late Nicholas Brothers, the late Buster Brown, the late Gregory Hines, Harold Cromer, Savion Glover, Dianne Walker, Jimmy Slyde, Jeni LeGon, and Jason Samuels Smith.
All of the performing groups at NW Tap Connection are available for hire to dance at events and shows. You can also see them live at the studio's regular showcase performances, and in the community. For further information about the Company and booking, please contact us: (nwtapc@yahoo.com)
